Hibiscus Longevity Drink Recipe

You’ll love this delicious, bright and uplifting wellness drink that nourishes clear radiant eyes, heart health, fat loss, liver function and glowing skin.

The star of this recipe is beautiful time-honored hibiscus. Although often mistakenly thought of as the petals, the part of the hibiscus plant we use medicinally is made from the calyx of Hibiscus sabdariffa and is historically used for its impressive longevity benefits. In traditional medicine including Ayurveda, hibiscus is used to support the cardiovascular system and uplift the emotional and spiritual heart, nourish radiant skin, support female reproductive health, and aid liver and kidney function.

Enjoy this nutrient-rich drink by itself in the morning, with a healthy meal, or anytime you’d like to uplift yourself and nourish a healthy glow from within. Add sparkling water and it’s perfect to serve during your holiday festivities, a crowd pleaser full of delicious floral, citrus and spice notes and numerous health benefits.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Hibiscus - 2 TBSP of dried or 4 teabags

  • Cara Cara oranges - 2 cups of freshly squeezed juice. Cara Cara oranges are the very best in this recipe but if they’re not available in your area you may substitute blood orange or combine 2 cups of freshly squeezed Naval orange with the juice of a lime to mimic that perfectly delicious sweet-tart flavor.

  • Cinnamon stick- Organic Ceylon cinnamon is preferred here

  • Sparkling water - Natural spring water carbonated (optional)

  • Wholeness Floral Elixir- 4 drops per serving to feel deeply nourished and uplifted (optional)

HOW TO:

Begin by adding 1/3 cup of hot water to 2 TBSP of dried hibiscus or 4 teabags and steep for 10 mins to create a tea concentrate. Refrigerate for 30 mins or longer to cool. While your hibiscus tea is cooling, with a handheld citrus press, juice 2 Cara Cara oranges.

Once your tea is cooled add it to your juice. Add a cinnamon stick to each glass and 4 drops of Wholeness Floral Elixir. For a festive twist, substitute 1/2 of the juice for sparkling water for holiday inspired drink sure to please!

Serves 2.
